Fresh Homemade Salsa

Fresh vine ripe tomatoes are the star of this vibrant and flavorful homemade salsa recipe. Adjust the heat to your liking with a little more or a little less jalapeno.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 vine-ripe tomatoes
  • 1/2 red onion chopped
  • 2 limes
  • 2 jalapenos seeds removed (leave a few seeds for more spice)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Chop the tomatoes into small pieces and transfer them to a large bowl.
  • Dice the red onion and add it to the bowl with the tomatoes.
  • Cut the jalapenos in half, remove the seeds, and finely chop the jalapenos. Add them to the bowl.
  • Chop the cilantro and add it to the bowl.
  • Mince the garlic and add it to the bowl.
  • Slice the green onions and add them to the bowl.
  • Cut the limes in half and squeeze the juice from both halves into the bowl.
  • Season the salsa with salt to taste. Stir everything together until well combined.
  • Allow the salsa to sit for about 10 minutes so the flavors can meld together.
